I love this image! A 365 top ten would not be complete without this image. If I were ranking my images from the 365, this would be pretty high on the list. It was incredibly hot this day & I don't do heat. I'm pretty sure that my youngest inherited the "Don't Do Heat" gene. With the slightest bit of warmth, we get bright red & sweat buckets. My beer had been empty far too long & she said that she'd watch the boys while I stood in line. Hoping the line would move fast & the beer would perk my spirits, I made the trek. Even waiting in the slow line was pushing my tolerance for the outdoors. The line didn't move & I was covered in sweat without walking a step. I tried to commiserate with other sweat stained strangers by saying, "This is insane. What are we doing here?" I got my drink & headed back towards our group of friends. When I returned, I saw her lugging a boy on each hip. The boys were laughing at something only two-year-olds find funny & she was laughing with them. The heat hung heavy for the rest of the afternoon & was later washed out by a quick downpour. I remember a few things from this day. I remember taking cover under a small tree. I remember Becks falling asleep before our car left the parking lot. Sadly I don't remember what was so funny, but I do remember their joy even during the intense heat.

I'm so selfishly glad this made the top 10. Naturally it's one of my favorites. I think they were laughing at nothing, which made it all the funnier. That kind of heat is unimaginable right now.
